Busi
Fashion designer and tailor Anna Busi set out to build her own personal brand. She brought a few pieces of inspiration to the table, including lace from France and a sophisticated eye for elegant colors like mauve and amethyst. I gave her a mark that felt uniquely her own.
Since I knew she wanted her brand to be her name, I designed a cursive logo that used her signature. We had her write her name over and over until the answer popped right out. The way her stroke swirled through the uppercase 'B' reminded me of a needle and thread.
The iterations (above) show how we kept the focus around that 'B' mark and exploring different container shapes. (Final mark below)
Anna really gravitated towards rich purples, so I built her aesthetic around amethyst as a core element. I also found a headline font for her to pair with he logo, PIrou (seen below).
This project aimed to capture the client’s playfulness and grace, and I’m confident we did just that! The signature exercise was also a sweet reminder of how some of the best work begins with a simple, serendipitous discovery.
